Many people hope to grow old peacefully in their warm and familiar home till the end of their life journey, but only after experiencing being a caregiver do they realise that there are often many unexpected hurdles in geriatrics and the long-term care for the elderly. Only when the government, community healthcare and services, and the patient’s family all complement each other, can we achieve happy ageing in the community and grow old at home with ease.
