Don't get it wrong again! Eid al-Fitr is not a New Year celebration for Malays, and not all vegetarian food is halal.
Every year, volunteers from the Tzu-Chi Foundation (Singapore) would invite care recipients of different ethnicities to join them in celebrating various festivals. This year, the volunteers were not idle during the Eid al-Fitr festivities. Despite having a different custom, the volunteers observed and learned from the Malay care recipients would feel fully respected and loved when they arrived at the Jing Si Hall.
