Tzu Chi Renal Dialysis Centre 2025

Tzu Chi Renal Dialysis Centre

Drawing on over two decades of dedicated experience in supporting individuals living with kidney conditions, Tzu Chi has developed a profound understanding of the multifaceted challenges they face, encompassing physical health, emotional well-being, financial stability and social inclusion.

In light of the rising number of dialysis patients in Singapore, Tzu Chi invested six years in the establishment of a non-profit dialysis centre. With approval from the Ministry of Health and support from the National Kidney Foundation (Singapore), the Tzu Chi Renal Dialysis Centre officially commenced operations in March 2024 in Buangkok.

Beyond addressing the shortage of dialysis beds in the North-East region, the centre is committed to delivering truly holistic, person-centred care. It aims to be not only a place of treatment, but also a warm and supportive second home for its patients.

How to Apply for a Dialysis Slot

  • Applications must be submitted by a medical social worker from the referring hospital.
  • For general enquiries, please contact us via phone.

Applying for Subsidised Dialysis

As of May 2025, the Tzu Chi Renal Dialysis Centre has extended its services to a broader group of patients. In addition to prioritising individuals who qualify for government subsidies or financial assistance, the centre also welcomes patients who are able to fully self-fund their dialysis treatment.

Patients receiving government or insurance-related subsidies who require additional support may apply through the centre’s medical social worker for further financial assessment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicant must be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Patients must be formally referred by a restructured hospital within Singapore.
  • The assessed annual value of any privately owned property held by the patient must not exceed SGD 21,000.
  • Applicant must not hold a Civil Service Card (CSC) for medical benefits.
  • Patients must meet the financial eligibility criteria as defined by Means Test Levels 1–5, thereby qualifying for community dialysis subsidies.
  • Patients are required to agree to a home visit assessment and attend scheduled consultations at our admission clinic.
  • All required supporting documentation must be provided.
  • Applicants who are able to fully self-fund their dialysis treatment, and therefore do not require subsidies or financial assistance, are welcome to contact our centre staff directly for further information and assessment, even if other criteria may not apply.

Application Process

  1. Prospective patients are required to submit comprehensive medical reports, detailed financial records, and any other necessary documentation to facilitate a thorough assessment.
  2. Patients will participate in financial counselling sessions and a home visit conducted by our experienced medical social worker. Furthermore, a renal physician at our admission clinic will conduct a comprehensive medical assessment.
  3. Tzu Chi will carefully review each application received, and for those deemed eligible, we are committed to providing appropriate financial assistance and transportation support.
