SUMMARY:Tzu Chi Environmental Sustainability Day (2026)
DESCRIPTION:Every third Sunday of the month | More than 30 locations across Singapore \nLooking for a meaningful way to practise recycling and care for the environment? Join Tzu Chi Environmental Sustainability Day\, a monthly community activity where residents come together to recycle\, learn about environmental protection and build stronger neighbourhood connections. \nHeld every 3rd Sunday of the month at more than 30 neighbourhoods across Singapore\, temporary eco points are set up at HDB void decks\, communal pavilions and activity areas with the support of local Residents’ Committees. Residents can bring their recyclable items to these collection points and learn how to sort them correctly with guidance from Tzu Chi volunteers. \nA Community Recycling Activity for Everyone \nEnvironmental Sustainability Day is suitable for residents of all ages. Families are welcome to bring their children along to experience recycling first-hand and learn simple ways to protect the environment. \nThroughout the half-day activity\, Tzu Chi volunteers create a welcoming space for residents to: \n\nBring and sort recyclable items by material\nLearn more about recycling and environmental protection\nDiscover ways to reduce waste in everyday life\nInvolve children in hands-on environmental activities\nMeet and connect with neighbours\nWork together to keep the community space clean\n\nAfter the recyclable items have been sorted\, volunteers and residents work together to clean up the venue and restore it to its original condition. \nFrom Recycling to Sustainable Living \nRecycling is only one part of environmental protection. As volunteers and residents handle and sort recyclable materials\, they also get a closer look at the amount of waste generated through everyday consumption. \nThis experience encourages us to reflect on our own consumption habits and consider how we can **reduce waste\, avoid unnecessary purchases and live more sustainably**. Small changes in our daily choices can make a difference when we practise them together as a community. \n\nBe Part of the Change \nWhether you are an individual\, a family or a resident looking to get involved in your neighbourhood\, Environmental Sustainability Day is a simple way to take action for the environment while connecting with your community. \nBring your recyclables\, bring your family\, and join us in making our neighbourhoods cleaner and more sustainable.
